Another great Berestain Bears book: "God Made You Special"

There is nothing better than a cookout with friends! But when the Bear family gets together with their friends, the Bruins, they meet the Bruins' cousin Tommy - and Sister Bear soon notices that Tommy plays differently than the rest of the group. When Sister Bear asks Mama Bear about Tommy, she learns that God makes everyone special and unique!

"God Made You Special" is another wonderful addition to the Berenstain Bears books. The moment the book arrived in our house, all 3 of my children clamoured to hold the book, look through the delightful drawings, and dive into the story. Tommy is a great character to spark conversation with your children about what makes all of us unique and special, and that God knows exactly what he's doing when he forms us. I loved the perspective that this book takes, as Tommy shows the cubs that being different isn't at all bad, and in fact Tommy's unique take on the world proves to be quite infectious. I found it fitting that all of the cubs end up abandoning what they thought they wanted to do and are soon enjoying the world the way Tommy sees it! The story is well-written and held my children's attention through-out. Not only will your kids be entertained, but this book will cause them to look at the world in a whole new way, with an appreciation for the diversity in people around them.

I, and my children, give this book a solid rating and award it 4 out of 5 stars.

 about the authors....

Mike Berenstain grew up watching his parents, Stan and Jan, working together to write and draw these lovable bears. Eventually he started drawing and writing about them too.
