A solid addition to the "I Can Read" Series: "Noah's Voyage" by David Miles

The story of Noah and the Ark comes to life in the latest "I Can Read" Adventure Bible story, "Noah's Voyage". Taken from Genesis chapter 6 through chapter 8, "Noah's Voyage" follows Noah and his family as Noah hears from God that he is going to flood the earth and needs to build an ark to save Noah, his family, and the animals of the earth. The book is written at a level 2 of the I Can Read! book standard, where developing readers can read the book with some help from an adult (or in our case, from older sisters!).

My children were thrilled to get Noah's Voyage, and have enjoyed perusing the colorful illustrations and reading through the simple text. My son who just graduated from kindergarten has found this book to be right at his level, though he's needed a bit of help with some of the words. The familiar story has been presented in an interesting manner, and the pictures are full of details that kept him glued to the pages. As a parent, I appreciate that not only can this book help my son grow in his skills in reading, but he can learn important truths along the way. This story clearly shows how our God is a God of love, how he uses people to fulfill his good plans, and how God always keeps his promises.

All in all, this book is a winner from beginning to end. Parents who want to have good material on hand that will help their child learn to read while teaching spiritual truths too, should plan on grabbing a copy of "Noah's Voyage". I strongly recommend this book and award it 4 out of 5 stars.
