Fantastic! "The Witnesses" by Robert Whitlow
Young attorney Parker House is not only an up-and-coming lawyer with a promising career ahead of him; he's also inherited a powerful gift from his grandfather, Frank - a gift of startling insight and premonitions as to what the future holds. But his legal career, and a new relationship, are placed in jeopardy when his grandfather's past catches up with them. As the truth of Frank's wartime actions and his incredible abilities come to light, Parker and the ones he loves find their very lives threatened by those who would seek to exploit their gifts, no matter the cost.
I absolutely devoured "The Witnesses", finding it impossible to step away from the pages for even a moment. Though the demands of the world pressed upon me, I eventually gave up on any other plans until I'd finished this fantastic novel. The premise is utterly unique, and the characters are truly intriguing with their gifts that they have been given. The spiritual journeys that both Parker and Frank embark upon will no doubt awaken within you a desire to engage with God in a similarly authentic manner where all is laid bare - and grace is discovered. I loved the suspense and intrigue woven into this story, along with the deftly handled romance and the growth of the characters over the course of the novel. Both Parker and Frank are characters that you cannot help but grow to love and respect, despite the mistakes they have made. My one regret with "The Witnesses" is that it appears to be a stand-alone book, because this story is so unique that I would love to read another book starring these wonderful characters!
Once again, Robert Whitlow has offered up another stellar novel. I greatly enjoyed "The Witnesses" and award this story 5 out of 5 stars.
