Parents of preschoolers, help is here! My review of Four New Fun-Filled Books from the Bestselling "The Beginner’s Bible" Collection

I'm always on the lookout for fun, Bible-themed story books and activities that my children can both be entertained by and learn from at the same time. Zonderkidz has filled that need with four great books that your children are sure to love, because mine sure did! The moment I opened the package containing these four items in the mail, my children insisted on immediately diving into the stories and trying out both the coloring and the activity book.

So, let me tell you about each of these products, each option of which I recommend you put on your "must buy" list:

First up is "Jesus Feeds The Hungry" (from The Beginner's Bible), a book for children aged 2-5 that brings to life the story of Jesus feeding the five thousand with five loaves of bread and two fish. The art work is colorful and entertaining, and features the same drawings found in The Beginner's Bible. The story is well-laid out, and will give your children a new appreciation for this amazing miracle of Jesus multiplying a little bit of food to feed a huge crowd. What my own children loved the most was the pictures where Jesus is shown holding a child's hand, helping little listeners realize that Jesus isn't just for adults - he absolutely loves children too! If you are looking for a story that not only displays God's power, but also his immense love and care for his children, then plan on buying this book for your family.

The Beginner's Bible Super-Duper, Mighty, Jumbo Activity Book
Next we have "The Beginner's Bible Super-Duper Mighty Jumbo Coloring Book", an amazing book that is aptly named, containing almost 400 pictures for children to color! My children truly love this coloring book, not only because there are so many options to choose from, but because the book is divided into all of the main stories of the Bible. The book does not contain words from the Bible, but tells Bible stories through the pictures, allowing children to learn the stories while letting them add colors and their own creativity to the stories. My children's favorite was coloring the story of Jonah as he fled from God and was swallowed by a giant fish. My son just giggles over the picture of the fish throwing up Jonah onto shore! The coloring book will not only entertain your children with hours of coloring, but also help you impart Bible stories at the same time.

Jesus Heals the Sick
"Jesus Heals the Sick" is a wonderful compilation of several stories from the Bible where Jesus heals a sick person, such as when he restores sight to a blind man or heals a man who is paralyzed. If you are looking for a resource to read to your own children when they are sick, or struggling with why a loved one is sick, then this is the perfect story to pull out to help them understand God's desire to heal, whether now or in some cases waiting until heaven. I myself find the stories to be absolute faith builders, and a wonderful reminder of God's power and of his love. Once again, the pictures are taken from The Beginner's Bible, and so are colorful and vivid, and sure to capture your little one's attention. I thoroughly enjoyed this retelling of these stories, and plan to pick it up often to read with my children in the future.

The Beginner's Bible Super-Duper, Mighty, Jumbo Coloring BookAnd finally we have the "Super-Duper Mighty Jumbo Activity Book", an absolute treasure trove of 382 pages of dot-to-dots, word puzzles, matching games, mazes. The book will help your preschooler learn counting, help them practice tracing letters, and engage their mind, all while using fun pictures from the Bible to help them learn. If your children are ever complaining of boredom, then this is absolutely the book to pull out, because it offers lots to keep them busy while teaching them God's truths too, such as the fact that Jesus loves children, or that God is good or that we don't need to be afraid because God is our shepherd! This book is a great resource, and I heartily recommend it to parents, grandparents, and anyone else who is spending time with children and needs some help both entertaining and teaching about God.

my overall conclusion...

As you can see, these four books offer hours of fun for you and your children. They are all based on action-filled and wonderful pictures from "The Beginnings Bible", something my own children have been reading with me for years, and so they were right at home with the drawings and especially with the depiction of Jesus. I highly recommend each of these books, and give them a solid 5 out of 5 rating!
