A stunning suspense: My review of Eyes of Justice by Lis Wiehl & April Henry
Publisher: Thomas Nelson (April 3, 2012)
The Triple Threat women return in an emotional and supenseful roller-coaster in Eyes of Justice.
Cassidy is a television reporter who thrives on attention, and on finding and reporting the truth to help bring about justice, no matter the cost. Nicole is an FBI agent who has faithfully given the FBI her best, often at the cost of her own dreams and desires, especially for love. Allison is a highly-respected federal prosecutor who has sacrificed much for her family, especially her sister who is overcoming addictions. Together, the three women have managed to work together to achieve justice in the city of Portland. However, their identity as a Triple Threat is shattered when a murderer strikes and one of them is brutally killed. Grieving, the survivors become obsessed with uncovering what happened - a search that reveals a shocking truth and leads them into the path of the killer.
Eyes of Justice is filled with twists and turns that made for a gripping and intense read. Having followed these women through the prior books in the series, I was heart-broken to watch as one of the women lost their lives, a woman who was so often misguided and tried so hard to find fulfillment in her life - while completely missing out on the grace that Jesus was offering to her with open hands. Throughout the series, the women have become characters who live and breathe, and their journies are emotional as we watch them hope and dream for love, for children, for fulfillment. I absolutely loved this latest book from start to finish, perhaps not surprising as suspense is my favorite genre. The book is written with utter skill, with crisp scenes, excellent detail, and perfect pacing. I am left craving for more! Wiehl and Henry are a dynamic team who have produced an excellent series, and Eyes of Justice definitely lives up to (and maybe even surpasses) the prior books in the series.
I highly recommend this book and give it 5 out of 5 stars!
