Christy is a featured worship leader at Passion Conferences, which have seen hundreds of thousands of university students proclaim the name of Jesus. Along with her husband, producer Nathan Nockels (Passion, Matt Redman), Christy leads worship at Passion City Church.

Fans of Christy Nockels rejoice! "Let It Be Jesus", her first ever LIVE album, is a beautiful compilation of songs that will set your feet to dancing one moment and have you battling tears the next. The songs are catchy and the lyrics meaningful, with a good mix of faster and slower paced songs. My children broke into dancing with "Freedom Song" and insisted on playing it over and over. After I finally convinced them to move on to listen to more of the album, the whole family enjoyed song after song, with the title track "Let It Be Jesus" probably becoming the overall favourite. As I've been listening to this song this past week, I've come to absolutely love the piano accompaniment, and as the song builds towards the chorus I can't help but break out into the lyrics, "For me, to live is Christ, God I breathe Your name above everything, Let it be, Let it be Jesus". I greatly enjoy the different instruments and interesting melodies featured in these tunes, and marvel that no matter the song, they all truly point me to Jesus. Another favourite of mine is the song "Leaning On You Jesus". So often life can throw curve balls our way, and we can feel like we have nowhere to turn. What a powerful reminder that we can lean on the Lord, as we declare along with Christy, "How sweet it is to trust you Lord, I'm learning how to trust you more, oh I will trust in the name of the Lord my God."

Listeners who long for music that they can sing along to with their family, songs that will move singers into the throne room of God, should plan on getting "Let It Be Jesus". You'll enjoy the beautiful music, you'll love the powerful lyrics, and you'll be able to worship God all at the same time. Now what could be better than that?

 about the musician....

As a worship leader for many years, she has been an integral part of Passion Conferences from its inception in 1997.  She's seen first hand music sweep people into the presence of God in a powerful way. A pastor’s kid, who was born in Fort Worth and raised in Oklahoma, she grew up singing in church. She met her husband, Nathan, in 1993 at the Christian Artists Seminar in Estes Park, Co. They recorded an independent record with fellow worship leader Charlie Hall under the name Sons & Daughters that led to an invitation from Louie Giglio to participate in the first Passion conference in Austin. Christy’s voice gained a national platform when she and Nathan formed the duo Watermark, recording four acclaimed albums before that musical season ended, paving the way for Christy’s solo career. In 2008, the couple moved to Atlanta to become part of Passion City Church where she serves on the worship team with sixstepsrecords labelmates Chris Tomlin and Kristian Stanfill. The following year, Nockels released her acclaimed solo debut, Life Light Up and spent much of the next two years touring with Tomlin and Passion.
