A wondrous Christmas novel: "Catching Christmas" by Terri Blackstock
Terri Blackstock has long been one of my favourite suspense authors, as she churns out one fabulous book after another, so I was quite curious to see what her first Christmas-themed novel would be like. I can attest that Blackstock's skill continues to shine through "Catching Christmas", as I was immediately swept up into the story and into these quirky character's lives. Miss Callie may be misplacing her memory, but her heart is fully intact as she seeks the best for her dear Sydney, drawing Finn into her plans along the way (with some humerous scenes to boot). I really appreciate that while love may bloom across the pages of this story, the plot is not overly romantic per se, and thus will appeal to readers of all kinds. The plot zings along, and I soon found myself longing to put on Christmas carols and decorate a tree along with these characters, even if it is only October! Blackstock has not only penned a marvellous Christmas story, but just a good story, period.
Readers looking for a heart-warming read to get them in the Christmas spirit should look no further than "Catching Christmas". I greatly enjoyed this novel and award it 4.5 out of 5 stars.
