about the book....

As the Race for the Book of the Wars Escalates
the World Teeters on the Brink

Leif Metcalfe and his team, dubbed Reaper, need to recover the ancient Book of the Wars if they hope to stop the Armageddon Coalition and their pursuit of global economic control. But their attention has been diverted by a prophecy in the book that foretells of formidable warriors who will decimate the enemies of ArC. While Iskra Todorova uses her connections in the covert underworld to hunt down the Book of the Wars, Leif and Reaper attempt to neutralize these agents but quickly find themselves outmaneuvered and outgunned.

The more Reaper tries to stop the prophesied warriors, the more failure becomes a familiar, antagonistic foe. Friendships are fractured, and the team battles to hold it together long enough to defeat ArC. But as this millennia-old conspiracy creeps closer and closer to home, the implications could tear Leif and the team apart.

my review....

Exploding with action, life and death moments, and featuring a cast of kick-butt characters, "Kings Falling" is a worthy second installment in the "Book of Wars" series from best-seller Ronie Kendig.
I greatly enjoyed the first book in the series, "Storm Rising", and was eager to see what was next in store for the characters I met in that book, especially the haunted yet capable Iskra Todorova, and this next novel definitely moves things forward in unexpected ways.

Kendig has crafted quite a tale of conspiracy in the pages of this book, and I found it interesting to consider the prophecies and the peril facing the globe in light of the real-life peril the world is currently facing with covid-19. "King's Falling" is filled with spiritual overtones, and readers will appreciate watching the characters wrestling with the deep life questions that we all struggle with regarding our purpose, our place in this world, what the future holds for us in terms of our relationships. I liked peering into these character's families, which seem to ground them in between their military escapades. The novel is filled with the usual twists and turns that Kendig likes to weave into her stories,. While many questions are answered in this novel, you will come to the end unsure of how you will be able to wait for the third book in the series when we finally see what the future ultimately holds for these characters.

"Kings Falling" is everything you are looking for, if you are into well-written suspense novels that will keep you on the edge of your seat and uncertain what is going to come next. It is a solid addition to the series, and I award this novel a rating of 4 out of 5 stars.
